sqplus Member S Joined: May 2000 Posts: 2,657	Yeah I remember that time too, it was almost impossible to have a Zetec discussion...of course...back then there wasn't much to discuss about the Zetec. Thanks to Ford for using the Zetec in the Focus! Without it we'd still have next to no aftermarket available. I still think its an ugly car though!

Compared to the Contour V6, (and I know Zetec gives up the horsepower) isn't the Zetec pretty bulletproof? I mean I don't see that many posts about thrown rods, bad water pumps, or other problems on the Zetec. Or is it because most of the posts are from V6'ers? THanks

I first would also say so.... but how hard do ZETEC owners drive their cars ?? I know those DURATECs guys they push it very hard.. maybe that's why they have more problems... I know.. that's a bad comment.. we all drive in different ways... I am saying that because I hvae a ZETEC and I never had any problem with it (NEVER) over 2years... and it has over 88,000 miles... BUT... I really never raced it either !! I never put more than 4,000rpms on my engine (I know.. I am silly)... and things like that...
