I was wondering if anyone had put on dual exhaust on their non SVT, and if so what parts cost was. I'm not talking like the SVT x-pipe i am talking true dual exhaust, with 2 pipes coming back from the engine.

I dunno if anyone has TRUE dual exhaust on a non SVT yet, but the SVT exhaust is easy as pie to do. You can do it yourself, but having another person there to hold it up and get the hangers on help. You can fabricate your own bracket, or use Patricks plans. We chose to deviate from the plans, and it worked fine.

#1 yes, the SVT has a x-pipe i crawled under one at a dealership in michigan before i moved and you can see that there is only one pipe coming back from the cat then it splits at the axle.
#2 i went to a local muffler place since i don't have the time or the resources to do my own work and he was saying that it's not possible to run 2 pipes back and that a heat shield was needed for the passenger side cause of the exposed fuel lines. he also said that performance wise it wouldn't help
#3 so noone has true dual exhaust yet? hrm may be time for me to find the time and resources and make a how to!

Hey guys i got a quick qestion i need answered if possible! 1)with the dual exhuast setup first of all i need a y-pipe right???
2)can i purchase a y-pipe from my local custom exhaust garage?
3)how easy or hard is it to do a exhaust change on my car or should i just go to a exhuast place and get the duals installed by them?
4)do the mufflers acutally make a difference in the sound quality? and is the sound really that noticeable?
thanks

An X-pipe is simply two exhaust pipes crossing. The SVT is a Y to straight to y pipe setup. Get under a Mustang and you will see an X-Pipe. SVT's do not have X-Pipes. The link below shows an X-Pipe. http://www.bassani.com/CGI/racesearch_ec..._category=PIPES -Andy
