#1 yes, the SVT has a x-pipe i crawled under one at a dealership in michigan before i moved and you can see that there is only one pipe coming back from the cat then it splits at the axle.
#2 i went to a local muffler place since i don't have the time or the resources to do my own work and he was saying that it's not possible to run 2 pipes back and that a heat shield was needed for the passenger side cause of the exposed fuel lines. he also said that performance wise it wouldn't help
