I'm actually lining up the SVT exhaust myself. I still have to get it when the other guy gets his Basanni on. Then I have to install it, but it should be cool. Did you put yours in yourself or have a shop do it? If you used a shop, about how much did you pay?

I saw your previous posts about this and remember you mentioning you didn't care for the way the stock tips looked. Any resolution to that?

I had mine done by a shop, cost was $75 for everything. They even disposed of the stock exhaust for me. About the tips, I've thought of a resolution but haven't employed it yet. I'm waiting to get some engine mods done to see if I want to keep the SVT exhaust on. I think it needs a little more HP coming out of the engine. BTW, the problem with the tips is that they curve from behind the bumper to just underneath it to fit in the SVT bumper holes, on a non-SVT car this looks a little out of place...to me anyway. Look in my photopoint account and you'll see what I mean.

IIRC, Limp0229Bizkit installed his himself, took about two hours. Find his post in the 'Performance Mods' section and I think it tells what he did.

Oh, my idea for the tips involves removing the stock tips, cutting small arcs in the bottom of my bumper, and then welding in straight tips to sit directly in the arcs. Sounds weird but the picture in my head looks sweet. Good Luck. laugh

You mean his SVT exhaust or the one it replaced?? I wouldn't wanna pay shipping on that thing, the SVT exhaust is TOOOOO big. You'd have to cut it up and then put it back together when you got it.

Why don't you get the SVT exhaust off one of those wrecked SVT's? laugh

I don't want to pay what they want. laugh He had one in a box already that was all cut up and ready for shipping. Then he got one from a fellow CO-CEGer so he didn't use the one that was cut up. He said I could have it if I paid shipping and then he never got back with me.

Damn and I thought I was going to be number 2. Mine is being installed in a week and a half. 7/29/01 to be exact. I am debating which route to go for the right side hanger. Either Taurus hanger as per the HOWTO or the Contour one via Bill J. BTW, I am putting in an SVT rear sway bar. I will let you all know how it goes.

If you're having it installed I'd recommend just letting the shop weld a hanger up there. That's what they did on mine. I had a rubber bushing so they welded a factory style hanger and used the bushing. It's just like factory...only not. wink My $.02
