I changed my last weekend... actually my mechanic did.... I felt stupid.. because it seemed so easy to do it that I could do it myself...

But u have to lift the car... it is located in the back o f the car... close to the back left door....

IT is easy man... lift it first, take a look at... breath deeply.. and just do it !!

By the way... make sure u have the new clamps or straps... to tie it back on... I bought my filter at the dealer, and it didn't come with it, so my mechanic had to tie it with the old straps... something like that.. you'll see it...

Don't forget to depressurise the fuel lines. Open gas cap and lift hood. Pull fuel pump fuse and start car. It should not start or will only runs for sec or 2. Your now ready!

I really don't know much about the fuel system - how often should the fuel filter be replaced?

it should be replaced every 30,000 miles or 24 months...

You don't need to depressurive the fuel lines and you don't need to lift the car. Just lay on the ground with your head just in front of the passenger rear tire and your body/legs facing the front of the car. You can reach up from there and change it. Might be a little harder if you have the SE side skirts though. Be sure to keep an extra rag or two to catch the fuel that spills. And make sure to replace the clips as you will probably break the existing ones when you try to remove them. laugh Good Luck.

I paid a deaelr $53 to change mine. To me, it was worth it, since I didn't want to smell like gas for a week. I read how to do it before I decided to get it done.

I have done other things like change the plugs and the cabin filter.

Awww! That's half the fun! The other half is hoping you don't blow yourself up!

I was laying down with a little screwdriver in my hand watching the gas drip as I tried to disconnect the clips.. I'd drop the screwdriver and cringe, hoping that it wouldn't make a small spark and VROOOOSH righ back into the fuel tank...
