You see, for the life of me I have never peeked under a Zetec hood and didn't think of this at all.. ..I come from a land of individual throttle bodied RWD Toyotas and Datsuns, which have no clearance problems of course.. :rolleyes: silly me.. A buddy of mine had a nice sidedraft carb setup on a 16v GTI.. 2 liter bottom under 1.8 head, cams, pulleys, headers, ignition. The things staring at you when you pop the hood, it was making me weak in the knees.. And when he started it up.. OMG! ..VW has intakes in the front and exhaust in the back. All new Toyotas have that now too.. Celica and Corolla / Matrix.. Too bad the Zetec is that close to the firewall on the 'tour, that would have been awesome.
