I just thought I would state that my 99 Contour SE Zetec just hit 50,000 miles on it, and it runs better than ever. I was just wondering about the other Zetecers, like whats the miles on your car and if any problems. I think I keep my motor very well maintained, but I am a mean to my motor every once in awhile, BUT man this is the 4banger to own, I love to see little hondas in my rearview, Let me know about your motor!!!

Happy birthday to your 50,000 mile tour.
I got 22,000, I take very good care of my cars now, I already learned the important lesson in changing and using good oil. Just make sure your run them every so often, it's actually good for'em.

my 99 is at 23,400 and not a single problem yet...at least not with the engine

90k on my zetec... Trouble free and runs better than new. Of course… I don't think my wife hammers on it  -burg

105K on mine the only real problem I have ever had is that Last week my VCT Solenoid went out. The car acted crazy wouldn't shift, jumped gears, ect. Got that fixed and hopefully today my cam gears will now be adjusted....will let you know. Other than that I agree this is the 4cyl engine to own.

Mine had about 109K on it when I got it, a few months ago. Now it' got about 116K. Runs great! I'm still amazed at how much more powerful this is than the larger 2.3L motor in my previous car, which was a 1994 Tempo.

Before I got rid of my previous car, a 1994 Tempo, I swapped radios. I liked the Tempo's radio better. That counts as a mod, doesn't it? I also kept one of my Tempo's wheels to use as a spare. I hate those stupid ?compact? spares that come with modern cars. Does this count as a mod? If so, I guess I have two mods. Replaced burned/melted blower switch and connector on 19 February 2002 with a 1P3T toggle switch from Marvac and a Molex connector from Rat Shack; I guess this now makes three mods.)

Mines at 117 000km. I was not maintaining it well before 80 000km but it's still in very good shape. It still runs as new.

I thought I was crazy. I'm just about to turn 50,000 and it does seem to pick up better. My motors been great, Ford replaced the starter twice just to find out it wasn't the starter, it was the alarm with the remote starter causing the problems. Wow, I am glad I am not the only one who puts the miles on! I have almost 48,000 on mine. I agree it seems to be better now then when I first got it. I have had no problems engine wise. "Knocking on wood"
