Just wondering… I give all my love to my SVT and I'm starting to feel bad for my Zetec. So… does anyone have a turbo installed and what are the gains?

Do you think I turbo'ed zetec can hang with a duratec car?

Absolutely. No, I don't have one installed...yet...maybe next summer. But I think a T/C or S/C Zetec could hang with a duratec, stock to stock anyway. Depends on the level of modification I think. laugh

BTW, does your spree's sail panels have the little raised dots on them?? Just curious.

I believe it is the "sporty" tracer. Or was that the Trio? Can't remember right off the top of my head. Sorry.

Mystique Spree = Contour Sport, or thereabouts.

Put a big fat turbo and intercooler on a 5 speed zetec and it'll blow the doors off of a SVT. Looking around at all the various systems, www.aerocharger.com looks to be very interesting. Turbo mounts under the car. I think they claim around 200HP or thereabouts. Of course, you can get a Zetec up that high NA, heads, intake manifold, cams, headers, etc.

Become creative and you can make a custom setup for a Duratec if you tap in at the y-pipe... Vroom. Vroom. Pftftftf.

The Trio was the tracer.....

Not sure how much they run on the Stage IV system. They say an 80HP gain.. Is it 10 HP for every pound of boost? I can't remember if I'm making up that rule of thumb or if it's an actual rule of thumb.

Anything over 6 or 7 pounds of boost will require a lot of new engine components to be able to handle the added pressure. Also transmission components will need to be upgraded. If it wasn't so damn much money I would be all over it.

I have a turbo in myh pocket wink
Seriously, has anybody thought really hard about this? I mean, its almost pointless because none of the t/c's I know of for the zetec are street legal.....so smog time are you gonna uninstall it then reinstall it? Waste of money! I even signed for a loan for a t/c but realized the consequences, that and my trannie went out frown
