There are many units out there, including remote mount/dual mount filters. There isn't alot of room in the bay to work with and you don't really want to put it in the air flow of the radiator and condensor. This would compromise their cooling ability. I really don't think there will be any true gains by using a cooler. There IS one spot that you could use if you got a small unit. That would be the left/driver's corner under the bumper cover, remove the cover and you'll see the room you have. I would have put mine there. http://www.jegs.com has many units that are small.

I've stuck an 18" x 4" in front of the radiater at the very bottom, covers up about the bottom 1" and gets its flow from the aire coming through the front skirt rather than through the grill. Main advantages is the ability to keep the engine at exactly 100C in traffic and cool it to 85C while moibile for more power. Ive got a tadge under 200bhp in my Zetec and it was getting warm on track days before the cooler was fitted.

I made mine from various parts but Mocal do a kit for the Mondeo in England

Hi Guys,
I sent an inquire to the folks at Derale Products regarding an Oil Cooler for the Zetec and below is the response they provided I thought you all will find it informative.

Volney,
Adding an engine oil cooler would definitely increase the reliability of your Contour. Especially if you add power producing parts. Our heavy duty cooler kit includes the temperature controlled sandwich adapter, cooler core, hose and all hardware. The part number is 15502. This kit will bolt up to your contour. The great thing about our sandwich adapter is the thermostatic control, oil bypasses the cooler when it is below 180 degrees.

You can buy this kit from carparts.com, 877-38-parts or Summit Racing 800-230-3030, Summit is offering free shipping right now.

Thanks for your interest in Derale products.
