I think I remember seeing those numbers before, or at least plots similar to those showing similar gains. I like to look around on the ZX2 and Focus forums every now and then.

I'm concerned about the header having clearance in front of the engine to fit, which is why I haven't ordered the JBA cat foreward headers or the cheap-o ones from BAT. I can't afford to buy something that I'm not sure is gunna fit so I'll let someone else guinea pig some on a Contour first.

Is noone willing to give you guys a conditional return for the unknown Contour fitment? Eric at BAT was very willing to sell me the ST200 nose just to know if it fit or not, albeit at a much cheaper price rather than a return option because I would have made it fit rather than wanting a return out of the deal... I'll call BAT just because I'm curious...

I just got off the phone with Eric at BAT. They have no problem with sending you a header to trial fit. All you would be out is shipping. Eric suggested a long tube vs. a short tube because the short tube ones actually go up, turn around, then back down (bad for the space issue). All that would be needed is from the long tube to the cat, then... oh, say a used SVT exhaust to have one hot Zetec set up. He even said someone could come by to look at one in person if they didn't want to spend the money for shipping (as long as they're local for the drive over). He's willing to work with you guys... who's going to step up to the plate? Come on Perry, my broken down V6 can still take ya (just trying to motivate here, no flames please) laugh Go out there and hit a homer for the rest of 'em.

All I see in the BAT Focus catalog is the short tube header. Goes out, then up, then back down again to the cat. The cat on the zetec is mounted up and down in front of the engine, not under the car like the main cat on the Duratec. Big ugly thing. Did Eric mention a different header that they have?

I'm not willing to lose the cat, and no CE lights. I think that the long type more traditional 4banger style headers would require at least relocating the cat, something I'd have to get done at an exhaust shop with my crazy cat-back setup.

From what I can tell, it looks like JBA's header does the same thing as BAT's. Here is JBA's header.

Somebody going to do it? All you have to do is a custom exhaust... come on, I want to see a big HP Zetec at the next SZ or national meet...
