With all the debate about the top speed of a Zetec Contique, I just could resist putting my 98 Contour 5-speed Ecvt Zetec to the test.
On the way to work a flat, empty stretch of highway opened up. At full throttle, I did not feel any g-force, but the speedo steadily climbed to about 108 mph and was still climbing when I had to hit the brakes. My only modification is a K&N filter. It seemed like I could have easily topped 110. I don't think that I could do the same in my 98 Mystique ATX zetec but on the right day I just might try.
