Does the UK measure octane the same way as the US?

Why do I ask? Because what you see on a US pump is an average of the RON and MON numbers.

For those who don't know, RON is the Research Octane Number and MON is the Motor Octane Number.

Two different ways to measure octane.

Give the same fuel, one is usually higher than the other.

So, we might actually have more similar fuels than you think.

Comparing these numbers may not be an apples to apples comparison.
