I sure hope David meant 6 - 7 in the 0-60 sprint, not the 1320 sprint.

My bad, Perry was right, I meant 0-60. I must not have been thinking properly. Oops. Is that possible though or would it be faster? Also do you need an ATX shift kit upgrade?

David, because you have an older Contour, I would recommend at least the Transgo shift kit. This kit helps keep the wearing parts safer as well as keeping a gasket from blowing. The earlier CD4E's where prone to a gasket failure due to runaway line pressure.

I would seriously consider this as my car will be with me for 4 more years and the extended warranty is over in November. Especially if I can run 13's in the 1/4 mile, very worth it. Keep the outside looking stock and surprise the hell outta people.

Jackson Racing S/C on the way for brothers ZX3. Looks like a clean install, question is, if a Turbo or S/C is CARB approved for the Zetec in a Focus, can we put one in a Contour .. my wife would be very happy with a bit more power ... jj

... go to a junkyard, find you a T25 turbo off of a TSi or Eclipse. it is small enough to spool up faster and provide more power, or you can buy a new one , or a T28, or T3/T4 from Garrett , they are basically the best turbos for a 4cyl.

David,

don't wanna burst your bubble, but you
won't be running 13s with a Zetec and a
ATX. Low 15s maybe.

You'd need MAJOR internal work and run
extremely high boost to hit 13s.

Lets put it this way....

David Z. ran a 14.0 with his 3.0 SVT pushing
240 at the wheels, with a 5-speed. So, in
order for you to hit 13s, you'd need AT LEAST
270-280hp at the wheels.

Good luck, but methinks that ATX ain't gonna
handle it.

Somebody was telling me that it would run 13's. I guess that I want something that makes the car faster. Hell even low 15's is what, 0-60 in the upper 6's or so? That works for me.

I think its possible to get a Ztec into the 14s with a turbo. I'm not sure about the Atx powered cars, but Ztec has alot of potential.

I was looking at the specs of the FR200 and it seems that they are making 300hp with a stock connecting rods and crank.

300hp will definately be a low 14 possibly high 13
