okay all i hear about is this big discussion on the v-6 ud pulley but never anything on the zetec. i've had mine on for about 4 moonths no problems. is this something that was inherited by the v-6 or does this go true for our little zetec engines? if so im going to rip mine off at once. thank you

I'm going to put one on when I get around to it. The focus guys dont seem to have a problem. I also havent seen much discussion on the zetec and would be interested to see what people say (probably the same answer I would think) As Terry said last time "Cant change physics"

I want to put one on my car but I also have a heavy pouding System in the car. Doesnt this pully reduce the RPM (Idle) of the car? Doesnt that also reduce the RPM on the alternator thus producing less power? I have two 200 Watt amps plus HeadUnit, EQ, plus 2 10" Bazooka tubes and Fog lights. This usually requires quite alot of power when they are all on at night time? Any problems with this and a pully installed?

I have a pretty demanding sound system in mine 300 watt amp 10" J.L. alpine head unit pioneer door speakers but I,m gonna try it. I have an ASP UDP. I put UDP's on the 94 Mustang GT I had before the Mystique and it was a problem. Even with a 130amp alternator and big battery it would die in traffic at night A/C blasting Tunes blasting I got real used to watching the voltmeter and gunning the engine to get it to charge. Car was power everything and had electrical problems before I put the pulleys on.

hey i have one kenwood 600 watt amp, foglights, head unit,6x8 pioneers all the way around and 1 10in jl audio 10w3-d2. i have no problems with power for the amp or anything. the ud pulley reduces the amount of power that it takes to run the various pulleies. it increases engine reaction time by spooling up quicker. this shoul clarify any concern about the pwoer buy i want to no if we still have the same problem as the v6 cars do. help us out terry just a simple yes or no will work on if it is going to be okay for us zetecc owners

I have an Esslinger UDP on my Zetec and have had no problems. It's probably the best HP for $$ I've spent. Some of the guys on our board www.focaljet.com also have the UDP with heavy duty sound systems and have not had any problems as well. Biggest complaint is the dash lights flicker at idle which is understandable as the alternator is being driven at lower RPMs at idle.

nishalp...it doesn't affect the RPMs of the engine, just the RPMs of the alt. pulley.

I'm not getting into this issue again but as a comment all engines do have torsional vibration in varying degrees.I'd suggest you ask 'judge'who works for the OEM of the V6 damper his thoughts and any data on the Zetec.Regards TAH
