My '99 tour runs right in the middle of the guage but it has been updated from previous years. I have to agree with the other guys with older 'tours- the guages are wacky and this has been debated for a long time now.
Don't worry, your 'tour is fine with the guage running where it is. If you want to check, take a thick rag an take the radiator cap off if you think its too hot. The water would be boiling if it is too hot.
I'm kidding about the radiator thing- that's pretty dangerous. If the water was boiling, your looking at a pretty severe steam burn.
