The cosworth is a good engine, but the 2.3 turbo is a far superior engine. With stock internals I have seen 400 to 450 hp engines. I built one with minor modifications to the bottom end that was well over 450 hp pulled to 7500 rpm and still ran on pump gas. Not to mention the torque with the 2.3 turbo is there. The cossie doesn't even begin to make power till higher in the rpm range. Again, the cossie is a great engine, but for the street/strip crowd that wants to run low 10;s, the 2.3 is better.
