I'm with the 2.0 Cosworth T/C,the engine has always been bulletproof and with serious mods can make in excess of 300Hp.To prove a point I will be building a race version of 'the beast' in 2001 with such a motor.

For a 'very fast' road/track car the Cosworth will fit up to our trans but the 'new' engines are very expensive. Can get a lot of power out of a Zetec if you carry out some extensive internal mods, will keep you advised.

Hmm...a lot of good choices mentioned here. Being just a little weird, I want to cast my vote for the VW 1.9l TDI. Mmmm...torque is our friend! Jeff ------------------ 98SE Sport MTX Trans Stone Stock.
