What would be your vote for the best 4 banger currently in production for stock un-modified cars?
Mine:
Toyota's VVTI 1.8
(although the best they ever made was the 22RE 2.4 they had in the '80's Celica GTS)

what about the subaru inline four? 2.5 liters, i believe. 165 HP@5600/166 lbft@~4500
that's not too shabby at all.
the little 2.0 that they have in the nissan SE-R and infinity G20 is also ok for fours.

I don't know... I would have to say the Toyota MR2 Twin Turbo. My buddy has a stock one and the little rear wheel four is fast. And is light as hell

I Don't know the hp on this, byt my friend has a Porsche 944 2.5l. Gives aprox. 165 hp.
