i just removed the silencer from my Zetec V4,as you know we have the ctalytic converters, and then the resonator. That is enough to muffle the sound. Try it out. And as you say, it doesn´t sound Ghetto, it sound Powerful, but within legal limits.
I had mine done in 10 mins. they just added the extra pipe, bent it at the tip just like the original silencer, and soldered the hanger. Hope this helps. (and it was cheap, just 15 bucks)
