Just a little update:
Went to autozone today and found that Mobil 1 filter for a 2000 focus and then compared a deutsch filter for my contour. They look identical as far as size, shape, and build are concerned. haven't installed them yet but we'll see! Hopefully, no problems, cross your fingers.
