What are you guys timing with? The magazines use optical laser timers. Im not a scientist but they sound more accurate than the lap timer on your Timex. But that time is VERY dissapointing. The car does not feel that slow. Now this is a STOCK Contour we are talking about remember.

Twelve seconds is correct for ATX, so I assume a stock MTX is in the tens.

I'm hoping to get my ATX down to ten or so. For me that will be a big accomplishment.

Twelve seconds?? There is no way my 'tour EVER ran that slow. The slowest time I have ever seen in a magazine test is something like 10.5 Just wondering, where did you get that time from?

12 secs!? I know for a fact mine is not that slow. Well maybe going up a steep hill. :rolleyes:

I'll get the issus and scan the performance data. Now on the good side that car was relatively new and had very few miles. I think a well broken in model will run quicker. A 96 Ztec w/MTX ran in the high 8's. So you guys posting your MTX time are probably right on. Its a disapointing number I agree, but lets be realistic,the ATX really saps power,especially in a 4-banger.
