You guys are all over the news here in Utah. I hope everyone is okay.

I think we are ALL affected when it comes to all the fires. It's a terrible terrible thing and I hope it will all be over soon. But, directly, I don't know anyone who has been injured or had property damage. The Hayman fire is certainly creeping towards Denver though...its consumed about 90,000 acres so far. The one in Glenwood Springs was at 10,000 acres last night...and thats not to mention the 'smaller' fires. This severe drought we're having doesn't help matters either...we should be getting rain twice a week but its been more like twice a month.

When I go up to the hills bike riding you can see the haze from the fire. Plus there is ash falling around Denver that gets all over our cars. With the drought we can't wash our cars either.
I wish we would get some good long rain so this summer does not suck!

Sorry. I feel really bad for you guys. We are in a drought over here too. We have several fires right now too. Not near as large or as close to people as yours. My prayers are with you guys.

If I know Colorado it WILL rain...eventually...it HAS to. The last two summers here it has rained like crazy...maybe Mother Nature just woke up late this year.

If it rains there will you share a little bit with us?

D R Y as a bone here! I hear about at least one new fire a week.
The fire here in LA two years ago was about 50,000 acres. It also destroyed 25% of our town! Largest in NM history. We're currently dryer than we were that year.
If any of you need a place to stay, lemme know. I'll have to ask my parents first, of course. :rolleyes:

We just gen'd up two C-130s (2 of 3 suppressors) to head out and aid. They usually support California but we need them now. The day this started, Sunday, my brother and I saw it from base. We have a perfect view of the entire front range. Both us being military and prior thought it was a bomb. The very first stages were identical to one. No wind, perfect(I MEAN PERFECT) mushroom cloud with a very small vortex center. I was going to get the camera and then noticed that the cloud was continual...then I knew from being in the military and prior FF that it was definitely a fire. He couldn't believe it. He's back in IL now and can tell everyone he saw it all. Brad's right, sooner or later rain will come.
