I have been reading the MAF threads in the Group Buy Forum. Have you bought the ProM yet? I would love to see a dyno comparison using both units, but that doesn't seem likely to happen. Like you, I don't really want to be a pioneer on the CnL. Obviously, I don't care about comparisons on a Mustang. Put that baby on a Contour!!! Until I have dyno numbers, I'll just wait. I'm such a wuss.

Ben, no I haven't ordered it yet. I'll make the final list next week, and order it then. It's a hellova deal, though! I'll definately dyno my car with and without it. I think I'm going to just use my drop in K&N as my filter, too.

BTW, Ben, I'm a mod-a-holic...I need help. Is there some kind of clinic I can go to? wink
It's only 179...that's not that much. Especially for a mod that people like Dan Nixon and Demon say is the best bang for the buck. But, if I keep saying that, it's going to nip me in the @ss.

I bought an 80mm MAF. I should have it tomorrow or Monday. I still need to get me an AFC for the car, so it can handle the MAF.

Has anyone called any Dyno places to see how much it would be for a group? I'll probably be ready in 2-3 weeks. I'd also prefer a place that can custom burn superchips, as I'll need mine redone.

Tim O.,
Where in the Springs are you at and color is your SVT? I'm at Vickers and Union, 98 T-red SVT. I'm usually cruising the F downtown or Academy. Ever get out?
Also, what is an AFC?
Mike

Mike AFC is the Apexi Air Fuel Computer...er something like that. I don't know of any places that will custom burn superchips here in CO, unfortunately. I think I'd be ready in about 2-3 weeks to dyno, too.

I take it our cars don't have these on board already?

Derek, I just remembered that about two years ago there was someone in the Springs that did Superchip's. I can't recall who it was but give me a few days and I'll find out who it was.
Mike
BTW, what's your email?

According to Superchips there is only one dealer in CO. I can't remember the name right now, but it's something like "golden state performance". They seem to be a Vette and Viper type of place from checking out their website a month or so ago.

I'd be down for another dyno. Maybe call Paragon down in Aurora. Brad has a list of all the Dynojet's here in CO.

Hey Mike! I live in the Security area. I used to work up off of Union / Academy area, but changed jobs and changed cars -- that's a good thing. wink
As for my car, it's a T-Red. Yep, and has tinted windows too. I get around, but haven't done much lately because of no where to go. I keep waiting for a springs meet, but no one has mentioned it yet, just denver meets.
The AFC is an air/fuel controller. It helps to fine tune the a/f ratios for peak performance. If you add forced induction or larger air intake / throttle body, the car's computer needs help in optimizing. With a secondary controller you can fine tune the amount of air/fuel you want at specific rpm and get a much smoother power band. (makes a dynojet graph look less like a heart monitor and more like a good incline) laugh
I hope that helps some!

Hey Derek, maybe that should be your job. Find a place that can do custom burns. Sure, I could send it in to superchips but they charge over $100! I bet the computer interface they use cost them less than that. I tell you what, it makes me want to open a performance shop. Something that is actually helpful, opposed to the wanna be places that try to rip you off and shove a boot to yer butt when your pocketbook is empty. laugh
