Well, I got 1100 miles on the car and I've been breaking it in appropriately. I know they say 1500 but I can't resist....Since I joined the Mercedes club earlier this year(thought I had to), I might as well get it paid for. I'm heading out to the track this afternoon. I'll be taking it easy, probably only do a few runs, I'll let you all know how it goes.

Holy crap that was fun! Lots of Porsches, a Ferrrari Marinello, some beemers, and me the sole Ford representative of any kind. I guess I wasn't pushing the car hard enough. Even with the traction control off, it felt surprisingly neutral. Met a couple guys driving Eclipses around. They timed some of my laps. Best lap 1:25.

A Speedvison Cup Two-car Camaro team showed up and put me and the rest of the participants on the track in our place. They were absolutely screaming around the track.

Happy New Year everyone!

Tony

Hes referring to Second Creek Raceway thats outside Denver. Pretty close to DIA actually. Its a sweet little track with only one straight away, the rest is corners.

I don't know if you know but Tony just traded his SVT Contour in for a 2001 Cobra. And hes finally getting to break it in 'properly'. laugh

Hey guy's, got a question for ya'll. I've got a 98 SVT Contour and have been looking for some place's to thrash it about. I see that you guy's talked of Second Creek, are they planning on opening the track for any other meets? I need to thrash it about cause that's what Ford's are made for.

Planet Ed,
Maybe Peublo Motorsports Park? I know they have a roadcourse, 1/4 mile, off-road, and other stuff as well.
From what I hear, their roadcourse is fairly good. A guy I used to work with run's a Porsche down there.
Do you ever go to any races around here?

No, I've never been ... I just got my Contour a few weeks ago as a gift from my parents (before I was driving my old 89 T-Bird ATX that I'm in the process of trying to sell).. Nothing fancy or a racer like others because its an ATX ... I plan to head down on the 6th just to meet people and see whats up and maybe see someones SVT and make myself envoius laugh ... Maybe get some ideas from owners on what to do mod wise for the car.

I see you have a Red SVT ... I saw a Silver SVT last week so that makes 2 in town ... Are there others here that you know of?

Yeah, I know of three silver, two black and about four red one's(including mine).
I won't be able to make it one the 6th cause I'll be on a road trip, but let me know how it went.

Ah, yes... I've driven Second Creek. Great track, very fun. I hope to drive on it again some day. There's the possibility that we'll be moving to the Boulder-Longmont area, if I can find a job there.
