IT's true, I think I'm gonna turn into a track whore....just got back from Second Creek. Took a chance on the 5 till dusk. It was storming all around us but the track stayed dry.

Ran with friends from work and brother-in-law. '00 Mustang GT, '96 Supercharged Mustang, and a '93 RX-7 R2.

One story. There was a Saab 900 convertable with exhaust and suspension mods. This guy had pretty decent power but was fishtailing around almost all the hairpins. I happenned to get out in front of him on the last run. He kept pace with me on the straight but I just slowly walked away through the turns. Had him by about a quarter of a lap by the time I went off. Not very impressive but it was fun.

There was a Porsche with a nearly full-blown race setup and he was effin' moving. Ooops two stories, sorry. laugh

Sounds cool Tony!
Before I had my 'tour I had an 88' Saab 9000 Turbo that had all the goodies - Bilstein's, Jamex springs, Group 6 intake, exhaust, fuel pressure riser, 15psi of boost! Much faster than my 'tour in the upper range (60mph-140+mph laugh )but not as nice around the corners. For a big car it handled great though, and I got 30mpg on the highway!
I still wish I had it, but it cost too much to keep up and I was going thru clutches every 30K with the power it had. Some dude who knows nothing about cars has it now. I saw him about a month after I sold him the car, and he commented that it felt real fast to him the one time he took it up to 80mph on the highway! frown

BTW, did you time any of your laps there? Using the video Brad and I filmed, I got some lap time for both of us. I was in the low 1:33's (four laps timed) and you were in the 1:34-1:35's for the two laps I had you on tape. :p For comparison, my friend Rick w/the S4Avant runs 1:25's on street tires and 1:22's on R-compound tires eek

No times but I was thinking it would be cool to start timing on Wednesday. I forgot to mention that we ran the other way last wed. I liked it much better going the other way. Bob said it only takes a consensus to reverse the track. Going towards the inner hairpin the car gets really light over the elevation change, kinda cool.
