well i just switched from the stock SVT wheels to 18's with 225/40/18 tires and I noticed no noticeable difference in ride quality to be honest with you. My suspension is still at stock height btw...
if you're interested in a set of brand spankin new 18" Enkei RS-5's with Yokohama Parada tires, hit me at hellahydro@hotmail.com.

I have even lower profile than above, and to tell you the truth, i feel that after switching from stock 15's to 18's, the car actually rides smoother on good roads, i am not sure, but it just seems that way, 18's will look incredible on your car and should not take away from the ride quality. check below to see my setup.
1999 contour se sport- black mtx -Duratec v6 -dual exhaust -no resonator -kkm induction system -one loud stereo -35% window tint -18' Enkei CDR9's on Kumho Ecsta Supras. -Audi A6 Sidemarkers (Coming Soon, Very Soon.) -SVT front and rear bumper.

17-18 definitely step up to the 18- i pondered about 18-19 for ever- and I look back and would have given myself a serious a-s-s kicken if I would have backed down--i would have always regretted it-

A couple of questions. 1)with putting 18's on a svt can u still lower it without any problems (Or do u scrape everywhere)(What setup would u guys say is the best one around for the drop, considering that I would want to do the occasional autocrossing)(How are coilovers on a contour are they any good). 2)Can u still get on a road course without any problems. Input please cuz I'm considering getting some for my SVT. Thanks...

i have 19's eibachs, coilovers, konis, and rear bat bar-i do not autocross- but i drive mine very hard- i see no reason why you could not autocross with this setup-it has very nice handleing- way happy with it
