dont do business with wheelmax.....

i have had issues with them SINCE FEB!!!!

i am at the end of my rope with them and am typing up a report to the better business bureau about what has happened...

DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT do business with them......

the story is 1.5 pages long but if you wanna hear it.....

Damn, I was going to order from them awhile ago too. Please tell us what the hell is going on.

ok here it goes

Jan 11....ordered 18 inch wheels from wheelmax....wanted Katana C5's, they told me the giovannia's were exactly like the katanas, and they were sending them cuz the katanas were out of stock.....

Jan 19...i get the wheels, first off they ARENT exactly like the C5's they are different....second 3 out of 4 are SERIOUSLY scratched, like someone took a brillo pad and when over the wheels...i call to ship these things back and talk to a guy named Frank...after argueing with him, and him telling me that it cant be because his ppl pack the packages all day long and they couldnt have been scratched, he tells me to send them back.....i send them back, and guess what?!?!? THEY DECLINE THE PACKAGE!....i call wheelmax and ask for frank, frank no longer works at wheelmax, so i deal with ralph, the so called manager....ralph tells me to ship them back YET AGAIN.....so thats THREE times i paid for shipping, once to get them to me, once to send them back (only to get them rejected), and once again back to wheelmax

OK so FINALLY they have the wheels....the Katanas are on backorder so i wait from FEB 3rd to MARCH 31st...my customer who ordered these wheels is sick of waiting for them and he wants his money back, so i contact wheelmax......once again i have to argue for a credit.....from april to may i waited patiently for my 700 dollar credit, which i never got.....

May 3....i talk to ralph (so called manager) after calling for 2-3 hours (see note at end of post) his exact words about the credit was "consider it done"

May 30 STILL NO CREDIT. i call and talk to Albert since i can NEVER get ahold of ralph ( once again see note at end of post) Albert says its Anya (secretary) who deals with credits and she will call me back in 15 minutes....(i talked to him at 3:30 pm)......i wait till 4:30 pm, no phone call......so after calling and getting the run around a few more times, i finally get ahold of anya...she says it will be processed tonight 5/30 or tomorrow night 5/31

May 31 NO CREDIT, after 6 hours of calling wheelmax Albert FINALLY says the 700 credit has been issued and it will take 3-4 days for it to show up

June 4 NO CREDIT.... 10:00 am Anya answers, and says let me go get the info from Ralph. im on hold for 15-20 mins until someone picks up and hangs up 10:45 am Irene answers the phone. Everyone i ask for is not there, in a meeting, or the bathroom. I ask to talk to the owner, or anyone who actually cares about the business, and hes in a meeting (his name is ben) At this point, i am fed up, i mention bringing the better business bureau (BBB) into this or even a lawyer....

NOTE: trying to get ahold of ANYONE i ask for is a joke. i ask for someone, and they say whos this (or they recognize my voice) and say the person i am asking for is in a meeting, in the bathroom, or they stepped out...they NEVER return my calls......

DONT ORDER FROM WHEELMAX, I MEAN IT

OH yeah, i checked the BBB, and theres an open complaint against wheelmax right now, besides the one i just submitted.....

The BBB isn't going to do anything for you. Call a lawyer.

i posted this info for everyone, to learn from my mistakes, not for me to complain, or for anyone to feel sorry for me (just a note )

PA 3L i was thinking of getting a lawyer, but i was worried about costs exceeding the amount i will get back....i was also thinking of finding a lawyer who will send wheelmax a registered letter (after hearing the story of course) for a small fee

im not sure which path i wanna go for now....any further advice???

Lawyer letters go a long way. If it doesn't work, you can probably file a small claim in your local jurisdiction (w/o a lawyer), since you entered the contract with them while you were physically in said jurisdiction. If they don't show then you win whatever you asked for, so be sure to ask for a higher amount than they owe you for this reason, but not excessive or you'll look like a fool in court. For example, included all of your shipping costs even though you might not get them from a judge. Tack on anything possible but not unreasonable.

The only problem with going to court is that it might be difficult to collect, i.e. have to contact their local sherrif's department and have them show up and collect for you, possibly in goods rather than cash. That is, if they will honor a local decision, etc.

Filing a small claim should not be too expensive and if you win, you'll get your court costs back. This is all based on my local laws, so you could ask the lawyer about it (i.e. this is not actual legal advice blah blah). My old landlord didn't know what hit him when he tried to steal most of my security deposit. He brought his lawyer and still lost, against myself and my old roommate w/o lawyers.

BBB by law has to look into the situation. Make sure you send in the receipt with the letter and make sure you make mention of it in your letter. They should get the money and refund your money. Also, what did you pay with? You may be able to stop the money even its several months later.

Call your local Television Station.

NBC and ABC just love to get in peoples faces and ask them all kinds of questions.
They even love to put it on the air !!!
