I was wondering if 17x7.5 in. Borbet Type T's
will rub with my H&R's ( with 215/45/17 tires )
Also would it be a good idea to go with
225/45/17 tires. Thanks for your input.

This is a good question because I too will be getting new rims, probably the Borbet type t's because I think the FSVT rims are going to be too hard to get and I'm going to be going with H&R's/Koni combo next spring. I know a 225/45/17 doesn't rub on stock suspension, even though when I bought my rims last year I was told that the 225 would rub, so I went with the 215 instead  My rims now, Millie Miglia Cellos, are 17 x 7.5 and I'm sure I could have gotten a 225 on there w/o any problems!

I have the Borbet Type T's 17/7.5 on my car and yes they do rub. I originally shod them with 225/45 RE730's and the tires rubbed mainly in the back. Especially if there was anything in the trunk, or passengers in the back seat. Under hard driving all 4 tires will rub. After wearing out the fronts I have switched to the Khumo's ECSTA 712's in the same size (The Bridgestones are much better than this tire). They also rub, but not as bad. I am running the factory suspension with 25k on the car. If you have no problem with rolling the fenders, then rubbing should not be a problem. That is not an option for me because I Autocross the car and rolling the fenders is not legal in stock class. I have been very happy with the 225's on the car and the 17's. It handles significantly better than the stock tires(with the Bridgesones). In response to the Striped Brick, Tire Rack Carries the Factory SVT Rims for our car, but the cost was more than the Borbet so that is what I chose. Also, I have bent 2 of my Borbet's on potholes, so be careful to avoid potholes. And when asked why I did not avoid them I always reply. "I do not advise radical swerving at 110mph."

Hope this helps.

I have the type T's with Koni/HR and 215x45x17 Firestone Firehawk SZ50's with no rubbing. It used to rub with the stock struts and springs if I had anyone in the rear seat but after the HR/Koni combo it has been great and have not rubbed once even with 2 200+ lb guy in the back seat. The springs have settled a bit after 6 months but still no rub. If you want to see the hight I can take some pics and post.

I wonder whats up with all this rubbing because I had (4) people in my CSVT during SZ and I never heard/felt anything. I have 17" Millie Miglia Cellos w/ 215-45-17 and correct offset, so I wonder whats the problem with the other cars confused
