and yes u can get 225/40/18 without rubbing but u will need a wheel w/ right offset. i'd say get a 45 offset for no rubbing. also depends on whether width is 7 or 7.5. this'll determine the offset needed for no rubbing.

What is a good site to go to to get chrome wheels for a Contour? Most of the chrome wheels i have looked will not fir the Ford bolt pattern. Also can you but an adapter to fit up with the foreign model bolt pattern?  (looking for 18's by 7 or 7.5)

the wheel manufacturer should be able to give u the offset specs. sometimes its listed on their site

For William Holla, finding wheels with the right bolt pattern can be tough, but if you find an authorized dealer for a wheel brand that you are interested in, they may be able to help. I was interested in a specific Konig wheel that did not come in the Contour bolt pattern; he made a call to the factory and they offered to drill a set in the right pattern ( it was already the right offset) for an additional $10.00/ wheel, reasonable considering I was getting what I wanted. The dealer was Tire Discounters FYI. Try this with a local distibutor.

I have 18x7 w/45mm Offset.................225/40/zr18's
rubs a little bit with a heavy person in the back over bumps..
Just mod the fender then your set.

The offset on Konig Tantrums 18x7.5" is 45S.
