I'm currently running 17x7 42mm offset with 215/45/17 no rubbing except on bad bumps/dips

i'm gonna be selling my stock SVT 16's and getting another set of wheels that are 16x7 with 40mm offset

since this tires is .5" wider than the Stock SVT wheel what size tire should i get so there is no rubbing with my H&R's

stick with the same 215/50/16 or go with a 215/45/16??
or should o go with a 225 width but i don't want any rubbing with the 40mm offset.

you should be fine either way, but i would stick with a 215/50-16 just to be safe... I have the H&Rs on my ride and I used to run 16x7 but i only used a 45series tire and i had enough room for a 55series tire if you ask me but they where 215 wide.. so you should be good.

225/45R16 is what I would go with in that diameter.
