The stock wheel is 6.5 inches with (IIRC) a 38mm offset. More offset brings the rim closer to the strut and there's not a lot of room there. Less offset brings the tire closer to the inner fender which can bring trouble especially if your car is lowered. A wider rim is means you must adjust/alter the offset to compensate for the additional rim width. Your 8 inch rim is 1.5 inches wider than stock. If the offset stays the same, the extra 1.5 inches will all go the outside of the rim. Got fender clearance for that?
