i ordered 17" borbet type t's and Sumitomo HTR Z II tires yesterday. i put your name and extension number in the spot at the end of the form so you could get credit.

Just curious, why'd you go with those tires?

well...i wanted a good performance tire for a good price. i got a lot of mixed feedback on the kumho 712's. otherwise that would have been my choice. i don't autocross or anything like that. i hear they're bad in snow but living in NJ we really don't get that much snow...and besides, for winter i'll probably throw my stock wheels on just in case.

i've never really read anything too bad about the sumitomo htrz ii's. i even searched through the forums and found MANY complements on the tires. they have great traction, peerformance, tread life, and they're quiet (so i'm told). u can read some of the reviews for them on tirerack.com. i also checked in with a few local shops to get their opinion and prices. they all agreed that it was a good tire for my use.

y do u ask? do u have experience with those tires?

i just saw ur other post about the borbet type t's...that youre looking at them also. if u get the sumitomo's with them we'll have matching wheels and names lol. and btw, you won't need an alignment with them.

you should definitely get the package...u can't beat the price on it! the BEST price (after haggling) at local shops was $1300 for me. my total at tirerack was $1k for everything including shipping! it's funny cause after i told a few of the shops that my price from tirerack was so much cheaper they laughed and said "that's where we order our stuff from"!

Thanks for the info. I ask because I've seen a lot of writting here about KDWS and like what I heard. Good performance & quite. But I am open to all opinions! I plan on moving back to New York City and need a good all round tire, as do you living in NJ.

thats a 4 gauge power cable that goes to my sub amp in the trunk.

i'll get pics up as soon as i get the wheels so u can see what they look like on a black svt. i've yet to find a pic of a black svt with them.

The reason I asked about an alignment is also because some guy at a tire shop that rotated my tires said I needed one. I thought he was trying to get me to pay for something more(rotation was free). But I look at my tires and there is some wear on the outside of the tires. Also I'm at 30k and the manual, or Haynes, says to get an alignment.
