What are the best tires available through Discount Tire Direct in the 215/45-17 tire size? Performance, life, and noise all taken into consideration. Any ideas?

I know it is Tirerack, but see this list first. According to it, the Pilot Sport is the best, folowed by the AVS Sport, cost no object. If you are looking for a bargin, the Kumho 712 is very popular among the critical autocross crowd.

are you looking for the best tire or best price? Falken 502's are prob one of the best deals, along with khumo. Falken's have no raod noise and are good in snow. If you go falken, make sure to get the 40series though

So for performance, which is better, the Falken 502's or the Kumho? How come 40 series would be better for Falken...in a post I created a few weeks ago the consensus seemed to be that 45 is better for a 17" wheel. Ideas? Also, I'm not just looking for the best price, as long as they are under $150 each.

I do not know which one is better, but do not get 215/40R17. Too small sidewall means it'll be harsh and throw your speedo off more. If you are willing to spend $150 per tire, I'd just get the S-03 from Tirerack for $156, but Discount doesn't sell it.

How about the Toyo TS-1, is it better than the S-03? Does anybody know of any good places to buy the Toyo's from for $150 or less?

Ok, so back to the topic of tires available from Discount, I am looking at the Falkens, any opinions with those? It says the Falken Azenis ST115 has some sort of new quiet ride technology but it also looks like a good performance tire, plus it has a 360 treadwear rating. Thoughts?
