I can get a deal on those for my girlfriends car. (92 jetta turbo diesel). How do they wear? I`m sure the performance will be plenty for the car, but I`d like them to be good for at least 30000 miles...

If not, i was showed some Riken tires (one touring, log life, one h rated performance touring ) for roughly the same price.

TIA

The XST would not be any good in the snow, only rain. Where you live, get one that is M&S rated.

Don't worry Dan, i have dedicated winter tires, so those can be summer tires.

Wow, I didn't know Cooper made Pirelli's and Yokohama's (Just certain ones).
The list on that site of brands made by Cooper was eye opening. I expected Pep Boys, Giant, Mastercraft, etc but not Pirelli. I had one of those (Pirelli P8000 Vizzola) on my Escort. Don't know if they were under this recall, but I loved those tires.

I don't think Cooper does anything different than the other manufacturers. Companies like Pirelli probably would not contract them to build their tires if they thought Cooper was inferior.

Dan, did you read the thread I posted? Just the kind of thing you stumble upon on the internet...

Yes; I knew about this several months ago. It doesn't leave you with a warm and fuzzy feeling, but its probably something the other others guys have done also. At least they didn't have the massive tread separations like Firestone.
