A tire which is more narrow is better in the snow. Ask any tire expert. The wider the tire, the more resistance and the more snow a tire has to "plow" through. My Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice snow tires size 205/55-16 are WAY narrower than regular 205/55-16's.
