I just put a set of 225/40ZR18s on my 2000 svt and I am having problems with the rubbing. What is the best way to fix the fenders to accept these tires? 215s are to small and can cause the rim to bend easier. Trust me, I had to find out the hard way.

I suggest you take a rubber mallet and hammer away at the fenders.

Yeah I rub too. The back left will rub with someone light in the back. It is tearing the tire apart! I just got all new tires and looked at the old one and the whole out side is cut! There is a peice of metal where the bumper meets the fender and thats where it rubs...How do I stop this!! Rubber mallet and hammer?
Dremel??
I am going to Florida in 1.5 days and am taking a bunch of stuff including 2 other people.
Help!

That is the piece. Hammer it in and you will be straight.

Do the hammer thing Antonio has said for the 3rd time. But do not cut or dremel past the spot welds. There are 2 pieces welded together for strength so do not break these welds.

uh, brad noon and david z both run 235's, on 17's, so you can go wider, but not on 19's.

Ok so the answer to 225 40 18's is to hammer the inner rim.. I will be honest, That scares the hell out of me, I just spent a couple of grand on rims and tires, and have no experience in doing such a thing Will anyone who has done this please contact me. I have a stock LX and will be getting the GC coil overs in a few months. I am really a novice at this and want help. no need help. Thanks in advance-Sunny
