Dude, that still doesn't make any sense. You can use the same brake pads after getting the SVT sized front rotors and the SVT caliper bracket. That's what I have right now. You don't HAVE to get new pads when you upgrade to the SVT sized rotors. If you get the late 99 or 00 SVT bracket, you can use your same calipers, and use your same pads.

Unless the pads will swap over to the svt, or whatever aftermarket system I buy, and I dont think they will. I just want to keep my wheels clean till then!!!

I thought the late SVT's had the same brakes as the SE's. Looks like what you need to do, thoen. Get the EBC pads now and make sure to get the SVT brakes off a late (99 or 00) SVT. and as mentioned, you'll have to mail (or internet) order those pads. Good luck.

Thats cool that you can use the same pads. I had a dodge dakota and put a dodge r/t rotors etc...(from a friends wrecked dak) and the pads would not fit so that is what I am going on.

Exactly what I said. Brackets from V6 Cougars (the new Cougar) fits too.

Well, I'm not so sure if it worth the upgrade if your current rotors are in good shape. I upgraded mine, and I didn't really feel any difference in terms of stopping power, and fade resistence. I upgraded because I needed new rotors and brake pads. I picked up the brackets for $25 each, and some freshly remachined used SVT rotors for $40, so it was a cheaper option for me than getting just new rotors.

It helps to make sure that you do not use an excessive amount of tire dressing. As the tire dressing flings off the tire a lot ends up on the wheels. For that matter, some people allow a lot of tire dressing overspray onto the wheels too. Tire dressing on the wheels makes the wheels into a brake dust magnet. Use tire dressing less liberally, or better still, use a tire gel and apply it directly to the tire with a sponge.

It also helps to wax the rims.
