I don't know exactly what kind of oil pressures you are trying to get but if your tapping off of the cylinder head you are only getting cylinder head pressure for that particular head. I would think you would want main galler pressure so you can exactly when the feed stops or drops to an undesired level. Just my thoughts but it is still better to have cylinder head then nothing.
