Will this indicate to us when the engine is having oil starvation in right hand turns? Is it our engines crank not getting oil or our heads?

Has anybody run into clearance issues with the sender and the starter?

I can get the plug out and adapter in no problem, but the threads on the sender are impeaded from lining up by the starter motor case............

Any thoughts on trimming the sender nipple about 0.5 cm?

I don't know exactly what kind of oil pressures you are trying to get but if your tapping off of the cylinder head you are only getting cylinder head pressure for that particular head. I would think you would want main galler pressure so you can exactly when the feed stops or drops to an undesired level. Just my thoughts but it is still better to have cylinder head then nothing.

He is saying that engines are dying because of loss of oil pressure around the crankshaft, not in the heads. You will probably loose pressure in the lower part of the engine before you loose pressure in the heads, so the oil pressure guage may not save your engine if it is hooked up to your head. Personally I am going to buy the mirko pan at whatever price he is charging as soon as my engine is in.

If i'm wrong on any of the above points then tell me. (david Z, and all you other people who know a lot about cars)

One last question. Where is the best place to run the sender wire through the firewall? I don't want to drill if I don't have to. Any existing place that doesn't require the extreme measures?

Best place I found is right where you need it,just below the cruise control box, drivers side behind the strut tower, find the hood release cable coming out of the fire wall.Pull the rubber grommet out of the firewall and run your wire on top of the hood release cable so that they both run THROUGH the grommet(cable and wire),now inside the car pull back the cover on hood relase handle then the black thick padding, find the hood release cable and follow it up to the firewall, you shold be able to look up under your dash and see where the light is shinning through.Pull wire through, reinstall in reverse.
