I just bought a set of Pirelli HPs for my Contour and I love them. I live in New England and they are great in the snow. They also rock on dry pavement. Just thought I'd put my two cents in. Go Patriots!

As a follow-up, I drove in the snow on Sat and was very impressed with my tires. I went slow, which is obvious, but I felt very secure on them. Also, the only problem I had was getting out of my parking spot monday morning because the road was all ice, but what tire can help you on ice?

Drop down to 205/55/15 and get the 712 kumho's, best tire out their for the money (about $60).

I have Yokohama Avid H4s. Very stable at 120mph and corner great. Pretty cheap too; about $65 each.

I bought the Firestone SH30's and am very happy with them. They are much better in wet grip than the OEM Firestones ( no more hydoplaning! )which was the big selling point for me, better in dry handling and they do a decent job in snow ( also better than the OEM's) for those of you that have to deal with that. A very good all season tire that gives a good balance of characteristics and an improvement in all aspects over the OEM tires.

I almost went with the Eagle HP's but on line they were $70 a tire and in town they were $80 and up. So I'm went with B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's ....Brad
