I've asked Ford for a price for this unit, hopefully I'll hear something soon. I'll also be happy to help out with ordering / forwarding it to you (no customs' charges) Paul.

OK. What is "Auxiliary Warning System" ?
It looks like a few wires go from that to the trip computer.

The auxilary warning system is a secondary set of warning lights fitted to the Ghia X (top of the range) it is a little panel (where the coin tray is) that tells you when your washer bottle is empty, what door is open, when a service is due, and when it is 4oC you get a orange snowflake, and at 0oC you get a red one! I suspect the snowflakes get a signal from the temp guage in the trip computer. I'll take a pic and post it sometime!!

We might not need that thing to make the trip computer work. I'm just curious if the trip computer needs the "Engine Management" wire at all, or if it's just a passthrough for the "Aux indicator" The only thing that I might be concerned with is the VSS tap, and the fuel sending unit tap. Everything else looks easy.

It does need the PCM tap, as it monitors fuel consumption. As you put your foot to the floor, you watch can see the mpg drop to 7!! Similarly on overrun, the mpg goes to 99. The VSS alone will not give this info, it needs the PCM also.

the "Engine Management" wire is the one I'm concerned about mostly, which one is this from the PCM? any other wiring diagrams that may shed some light?
It's all about balance.
