I know this has been discussed in detail in the past, but the detailed threads are no longer on the server.

Can anyone who has done research on this post any part #'s they have found, and any wiring diagrams, or knowledge about the wiring. I may be able to help make this doable.

Thanks.

Rara, I used to have a contact in Germany, a very nice fellow driving a 98 Mondeo estate with upgraded stereo and other goodies. I sorta remember it being the V6 Ghia trim level which had the trip computer, vehicle diagnostics instead of change holder, and electronic climate control. Don't quote me on that, not sure any more.

Nywayz, I remember him saying the climate control wasn't too good compared to the BMW/Audi/Merc offerings as the temperature / fan speed seemed to wander quite a bit. Dunno about the trip computer, he could most probably help.

I unfortunately lost his email addy, his name is Joerg Walzenbach, he should be a member here though...

OK, here's the trip computer that should fit in our dashes. I have no idea what wiring is behind it though. It might need some tapping into the speedo or maybe there is a plug hidden somewhere. I want one!

Maybe IndyJones can find out how much they are.

That is cool as hell. The only thing is you would need the climate controls out of the mondeo too. That way you can use the Auto climate feature.

That temp is just outside temp. The question I have, it can you change the trip computer to miles and the temp gauge to F?

Oh...ok. Good question. Maybe we will just have to switch to metric.

Yes you can, I have mine on miles and F as I hate metric!!!!!
I've had mine out several times, It is not connected to the speedo, but gets it's infor from the PCM. I might be able to find a wiring diagram in a Haynes manual if you're interested
