Hey Gang,

So I've decided on the Bridgestone Potenza RE950's for my 99 SE. TireRack has em for 75 plus 26 shipping so $326. now how much would it cost me to get a tire shop to swap them and put roadhazard on...

Otherwise the local shop can get them for 89.99 and 470 out the door with hazard, and 10 year rotations blah blah blah..

Only prob. they won't roadhazard tires you bring in and its 15 bucks a TIRE to mount and balance them... so it seems to wash getting them from TR.com unless you get rims too...

any who's did I answer my own question here or am I not shopping around enough?

TIA,
Ray

All the tires I've gotten in the last 7 years I've used Tirerack as a reference. Add $6ea for shipping to Detroit area and $10ea to M&B at a local shop. Then I go into a few local shops with the exact tire in mine and ask what they can do. Only once has it been better to go through a local place, for snow tires & steelies. Discount Tire offers free flat repairs no matter where you bought the tires. You don't need the road hazzard. NO local shop will offer it on a bring in tire.

America's Tire might. They will add the roadhazzard tire warranty to new cars with the factory tires.

When I got my 18x7.5 Alba Blaze rims I shopped around for Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires. The lowest local price I found was $262.99 each at the Wheelworks. The Tire Rack sells them for $193.00 each. When you consider Wheelworks wanted $86.79 tax and Tire Rack only charged $30.00 for shipping with no tax the decision was a no brainer. Wheelworks wouldn't even discuss a price match with The Tire Rack; they just whined that it was unfair to compare their prices with them. And The Tire Rack website will recommend local installers by zip code. The local installer I will use when my tires arive Monday provides all the same services that Wheelworks did at competitive prices. Why would I spend $336.00 more just to buy locally? laugh

I bought my RE-950's from a local Firestone. It was $500 out the door since I needed an alignment done. I did not get road hazard cause I did not have enough on the Firestone Card (had no cash at the time) and I wish I did after I blew a tire last tuesday. Anyway, It was about $30 extra for me to do it at Firestone, and I paid the extra money since I needed them badly and I knew if I ordered them from Tire Rack I would get lazy.
