Could somebody give me an idea of how many miles might be expected of stock BFG g-force KDW's on a '00 Contour with "standard" use?
Recently got a nasty close-to-sidewall puncture in one w/ 15k miles onit & wondering if I should just buy a single cheap tire/used & get a new set when they're used up or go for 2 new ones now.
I'm inclined to go for the cheap & dirty fix now, since I figure these tires are soft enough that they'll probably only go 25k or so... Thanks.

I've got around 30,000 on mine and I would say they are a little under 1/2 life left. I rotate around every 1500 or so.

I have not had the KDW on my car so I can't speak from first hand experience but the general feeling of the ones that have posted here is that they last a very long time if they are not abused. They are very hard. They most certainly last longer then the Goodyear GS-C or F1 that was used on the 98 SVT. They wore like butter.
Depending on the tread depth of the other tires I would be inclined to replace either one or two tires at this time.

I have some KDW's that I put on about 7,000 miles ago. I rotated them at 5,000, and unless you look really carefully, you can't see any visible wearing yet. I'm very, very happy with them so far. Gotta swap 'em out for my winter tires in about another 3 or 4 weeks, though.

The tread wear on the stock BFG KDW's is totally dependent on your driving style & rotation schedule. I've heard other SVT owners getting anywhere from 12-35K on their original set. I am currently at about 36K on mine with about 1/4 of their useful life left (i'm guessing, of course).

I rotated my KDW's about every 3K miles and only got about 22,000 out of them. But they also had 3 Autocrosses on them. Which are good for probably another 5K miles.
You have to be careful with these tires, they can be almost bald and still look like they have decent tread. Only way to be sure is to measure the tread.

33K - with 6K rotations. Pretty normal use, I'd say.

I wore the front set about half way dwon in about 8000 miles last winter/spring. Since then, I've been much easier on the tires and the other two which have been on the fron for a total of 15k miles aren't even worn that much. I expect 35-40k which is outstanding for such performance.
