I was looking at tire rack for some new tires, and saw the yokohama's. They seem to have the best customer ratings. Has anyone tried them out? Worth the money. I have firehawks on my car now but they suck. For some reason they look like they have 80k miles on them and i only have 30k on the car. I don't even race them.

Maybe it is just my luck, but I've never had a set of Yokes that I liked. Every set wore like butter and the handling wasn't really any better as well. Even my original Goodyear Eagle GSC's were a better tire, and they were pure junk.

I kinda like the Yokohama's also butI believe the Bridgetone Potenza RE950 are more of a All-Season tire, so that's what I got. So far they have been great. laugh

One of my customers has a 1986 BMW 635CSI w/ 1999 M3 rims on it and he has those tires and swears by them. They really look good and he says they handle GREAT! It also doesn't hurt that they are on a sweet ride too laugh This thing is red and has only 54,000 miles on it.

If you're running the Stock Wheels, then go for a set of Michelin Energy MXV4 PLUS.
Treadwear 340
Traction A
Temperature A
A good tire for 60,000 miles if you keep them rotated and balanced every 7500 - 9000 miles.

Make sure you get the "H" rating or higher.

Sears sells them for about $110 each,a nd they are better than the Firehawks, have much better traction, they are extremely quite, and give you better gas mileage since they have a very low rolling resistance.

Look around at all of the foreign cars.
Lately, this is the tire that all of them are using.
Consumer Reports rated this tire #1.

I put a set of 4 on my Tour when I had about 45,000 miles on her.
I just had them rotated this past week, and with 24,000 miles on them, they aren't even worn halfway yet.

The Yokohama Avids are equivalent to the Micheling Pilots, and cheaper,
but with the "V" or "Z" rating, you aren't going to get any mileage guarantee,
and if you don't drive hard on them, they *might* get you another 40,000 miles.
