If you're running the Stock Wheels, then go for a set of Michelin Energy MXV4 PLUS.
Treadwear 340
Traction A
Temperature A
A good tire for 60,000 miles if you keep them rotated and balanced every 7500 - 9000 miles.
Make sure you get the "H" rating or higher.
Sears sells them for about $110 each,a nd they are better than the Firehawks, have much better traction, they are extremely quite, and give you better gas mileage since they have a very low rolling resistance.
Look around at all of the foreign cars.
Lately, this is the tire that all of them are using.
Consumer Reports rated this tire #1.
I put a set of 4 on my Tour when I had about 45,000 miles on her.
I just had them rotated this past week, and with 24,000 miles on them, they aren't even worn halfway yet.
The Yokohama Avids are equivalent to the Micheling Pilots, and cheaper,
but with the "V" or "Z" rating, you aren't going to get any mileage guarantee,
and if you don't drive hard on them, they *might* get you another 40,000 miles.
