Anyone experienced bad wheel/front end vibration near the end of tread life on their KDW's? I've had the wheels balanced, but it didn't improve. I'm about to buy a new set after 21K on the stocks. Thanks

I just got done sound dampening my car. As usual, you start to hear all the other sources of noise. I noticed the other day on the freeway that my left front tire seems to be vibrating quite a bit more than the others and making noise. The balance weight is still intact.
Is this what you are experiencing? I have just over 21K on my original set.

Try going here. It's a new type of wheel balancer. I'd recommend it to everyone. Hunter Wheel balancer

end of tread life on their KDW's? .... after 21K on the stocks I did 45K on my KDW's and they still had some life left. I didn't need to get them balanced until 37-38K miles, and then they were perfect.

"I noticed the other day on the freeway that my left front tire seems to be vibrating quite a bit more than the others and making noise. The balance weight is still intact. Is this what you are experiencing?" It's a vibration that can't be ignored even without sound dampening. Feels like the front wheels are resonating. Someone told me it could be the steel belts separating, possibly caused by the many potholes around here. I think I'm going to buy a new set. Thanks!

My KDWs have around 21,000 on them and are shaking like a *****...I hate it with a passion. I'd like to know if anyones had better success with other tires. Also, if once I replace my tires and theres any shake or vibration to it at all I'm getting rid of this piece of crap, cause I baby this car like I gave birth to it...Premium Gas, synthetic oil every 3000, tires rotated and balanced every 5000....it makes me sick to drive down the road at 55 mph. and feel like my head is going to snap off due to the vibration. Well, I don't squeal the tires to often, ya never know when you are going to catch a pothole around here. But I did use them on the track, and they never stopped screaming there. All in all, I drive average. I'm just surprised that yours would wear out so fast, because the tire tread rating is 300. 1) get a "4 wheel" alignment. 2) Air pressure: 38 front 34 rear (these are very rigid tires and need pressure) 3) Rotate front to back / back to front only (same side) these are unidirectional tires. 4) Balance them again.
I got 40K from my first set. have 17K on 2nd set.

I'm a little over 30k on the originals and over certain asphalt and only lately slight shimmy from right at about 70 mph--but not all roads--these tires are very sensitive to road undulations but very trackable and superior grip--best handlers I've encountered but a bit on noisy side--figure I've got another 3 to 5k max on this set and interested in other brands that may be quieter without sacrificing grip--Potenza's? Toyos? others? No undue wear paterns and keep them at 36/34. Probably due for a 4 wheel alignment since none done in 3 years I've owned it and no major parts bust--only oil changes.
