My current tires are Yokohama AVS dB's and they are basically worn out. This time around, I'm looking to focus a little less on quietness/ride comfort and more on grip and responsiveness.
I can get Michelin MXX3's in my size for only $99 a tire (which I understand is a very good price), or I can Toyo Proxes T1-S for about $135/tire. Which would you guys suggest?
Also, the Yoko dB's sucked in the snow, but I could still get from point A to point B if I took my time and didn't go faster than 25mph. It doesn't snow often here, but when it does, how SOL will I be with either of these two summer tires?
TIA

Frank, I've never driven on Michelins... I have T1-S rubber on my car right now and it rocks. Road noise is minimal even the g/f didn't comment on it. Handling is top notch, besting all tires I've owned short of Hankook's Z2000 autocross rubber ... That one wasn't for the street though! The T1-S powers through water like it's not even there, great for rain too. Here's one opinion!

Seconded, I'm on my third set of T1-S cos they're great. Previously had a set of Yokos and the T1-S are much better in the wet. Can't comment on snow performance though.

I can tell you right now you don't want to ride on the t1-s in snow...I had mine on for about half of last winter and I was sliding all over the place although they're not intended for snow to begin with..other then the snow I love them..

Third on the T1-S. I love mine, have had them for about 4500miles and they are great. One word comes to mind sticky!
They have minimal road noise, look sweet, and have a decent wear rate.
Definately the best tire I have ever bought. Probably will buy another set.

Fourth!! I will comment on how tight they look as a tire. Tomorrow I will let you know how they are on the road.

Thanks a lot guys, I just ordered the T1-S's. I've heard nothing but good things about them. Should be here in about a week

Good Choice!!! Did you find a deal, I bought mine for a 100 bucks each from SHMotorsports, they ordered two sets for a project car, but decided to go with a different tire...He was selling them very cheap. I didn't need tires right then(but soon), but they were such a good deal I went ahead and bought them! Have fun

Thanks, I paid $135 each for them from Victoria Tire. I can't wait for them to arrive. I'm going to have fun next weekend
