Will the tire wear quickly on the inside still? Any drawbacks to a 45mm offset?

No, the higher the offset, the better.

You should be OK if you don't go under 40mm.

you can go up to a 19x8 40 mm offset with a 235/35/19 tire

the offset is the most important thing when buying wheels

You can easily fit a 35mm offset, but tire
wear is a concern.

Even w/ my 40mm offset, and 7" wheels, I get
inside tire wear.

Craig, don't be surprised if the same thing
happens to your Cougar. Excessive inside
tire wear on the fronts.

This is why we need C/C plates. Badly.

I'm using 7,5" with 215/45 on my lowered Mondeo but it is VERY close to the rear right wing. It is "rubber touch" when driving on bumpy roads. The offset is 35mm. Offset 40mm would fit better as already said in messages above.
