Hey, if you're willing to pay an extra $150 for the 2 or 3 tire rotations that you'll get at your local shop, be my guest. I'll just take a jack out to the parking lot and rotate the tires myself.

Perry,

Your the one talking about all this great service before and after the sale and they wont even rotate your tires. Give me a break. Tire rotation, flat repair and balancing are all free services at any good tire place when you buy your tires there. You should have to get the jack out yourself and no one is 150.00 more then tire rack there prices suck to begin with.

And look at luke's post gee you cant tell he's in sales can you. The only number he didnt leave was how to get in touch with him while hes in the bathroom

But its ok with the 75rwhp you got there you wont go threw too many tires.

Brian

What about all those other retailers that advertise in the sport compact magazine?

PS The panther wheels on the Victoria site look scary...

Ok...First off, I've bought 2 sets of tires from Tire Rack. Both times I saved over $200 compared to the local shop near my house. I did get the shop to mount, balance, and give lifetime free mount/balance for the grand total of...$50. So a total savings of $150 each time, and I still get the "after-sale" care. If I have a flat, so what..I eat one tire at retail price. The savings are still worth it to me. They will continue to get all my tire business in the future.

Uh. Where to start.

Seems like you're pissed off cause you bought something and paid too much. Now you're trying to take it out on somebody.

TireRack prices suck to begin with? Get off
the crack you're smokin'. They are one of the
lowest around. If you *do* find a place that
sells 'em cheaper, lemme know. $20 says the
price difference will be less than 5%.

Tire shops arond here would charge me 40+% more per tire than TireRack, AND they would
charge me for mounting and balancing.

You've never purchased anything from TireRack, and until you do, I suggest you STFU.

And is "rotating your tires" your only argument NOT to purchase from Tire Rack? Lame.

AND since you recommend Victoria Tire and Wheelmax, do *THOSE* places mount, balance,
and rotate your tires for free? HELL NO! So
what the fugg is your point?!?!?!?!

Oh, and one more thing...

Since you're so impressed with these tires shops that supposedly offer all this "after the sale service", why didn't you buy your
wheels/tires from them?

Once again......

Let me click on those two links you posted at the top of the thread... Ok. Done looking. I don't see anything on either site about free tire rotations, free flat repairs, or free balancing. Your point is moot. Why'd you waste your time typing that out?

Go out to an autocross some weekend and ask around about where you should pick up some new tires. Tell me how many people reccomend Tire Rack and how many reccomend Victoria Tire?

I had one of my Comp T/A VR4's get cut about a month after I had it. I went to NTB to see how much they wanted. Over $150. Called Tire Rack and I had one FedEx'd in for under $90, mounting and balancing was $10 the next day. So I just saved $50 on one tire, including mounting and balancing. I have just met the $150 number that I quoted and exceeded it by 30%.

Like I said at the begining of this I was not trying to rag on tire rack I was just wondering why everyone seemed to use them if they are close to where everyone lives or what the deal is.

And you got a bunch of replies about why Tire Rack is the retailer of choice for alot of us. What's the big problem?

Of course Luke is a salesman. His job is to sell the best wheel and/or tire to a customer according to the customer's needs and he does that very well. He gives his reccomendations based on his racing experience and based on what he knows from talking to hundreds of other customers and reading the results of Tire Rack's testing. He is the best kind of salesperson, the kind that I like -- educated in what he sells. People like Luke is why I buy from Tire Rack.

First, my local Discount Tire shop rotates tires for free, regardless of where the tires were bought or installed.

Second, Rotating my own tires is also free and takes less time than waiting an hour at my local tire shop to get me in.
